Peter Cooke, formerly of Kenya (to 1965) and since a resident on Wellington, New Zealand wrote to me recently via electonic mail regarding the book, "Fighting Vehicles and Weapons of Rhodesia 1965-80" which he co-authored with Peter Locke. Here is an extract from his letter which is placed on this page for interest.
I wonder whether readers of your fine Web home page know of a book I have recently published called 'Fighting Vehicles and Weapons of Rhodesia 1965-80', which was written in conjunction with Peter Locke of Mutare.Peter Locke served with the Rh Corps of Intellegence during the Bush War and collected vast amounts of knowledge about the technology developed during the war, including firearms, anti-ambush weapons and of course the wierd and wonderful mine-proof vehicles. We have documented these in a high-quality black-and-white book with 362 photos and 152 pages. It came out in December 1994 and I was fortunate to be able to take copies with me during two months in Zimbabwe.
Copies can be ordered from Box 9724 Wellington, New Zealand or via my mail e-mail address Peter Cook .
Thanks and good bye.
Peter Cooke
