Visitors have often said to me
Salisbury is the loveliest city we ever did see
For right through the year there are trees in flower
Fit for a princess' private bower.
The purple Jacaranda, the Flamboyant red
The giant Spathodia with its cup-like head
Frngipanis orange, yellow and red so bright
Bauhinias mauve, white and pink
The poor man's orchid it's called I think
When Spring moves on the giant Cassia yellow
Fills the warm days with colour mellow
Other cities and towns are famous and fair
But few for beauty and colour with Salisbury compare.
